Attorney Stephen A. Burns, Jr., “Steve,” began his legal career working in the Probate and Family Court Department of the Massachusetts Trial Court. During his fourteen (14) year career in the Trial Court, Steve conducted thousands of dispute interventions on contested cases before the court. These legal disputes would either be resolved through a written agreement mediated by Steve or result in Steve presenting an oral brief of the case to the presiding Judge. As a result, Steve became an exceptionally experienced mediator and orator of legal issues and arguments. Most importantly of all, Steve became attuned to the persuasive legal arguments and realistic expectations regarding how a Judge would rule on a myriad of legal topics. Steve brings his experience and wealth of practical knowledge to his clients to help formulate the best legal plan for each individual client.
In addition to dispute interventions, Steve conducted court ordered investigations into issues involving child custody, parenting plan assessments and interviews of children. Steve now conducts Guardian ad Litem investigations for the Court.
After leaving the Trial Court and before opening Burns Law Office, Steve practiced law with another metro west law firm that specialized in family law. During his years of practice, Steve became an experienced trial lawyer and handled complex litigation.
